The piece below was previously published on my blog. I’ve written before about my Grandad, to whom my blog is dedicated, so I thought it was high time that my Grandma featured here on Substack. It is a gentle reflection on an uneasy affection, tinged on occasion with anxiety, but there were many times when my tiny Grandma was my rocky refuge, and although she died nearly thirty years ago, I still miss her greatly.
Grandma has been brought vividly back to life here! I can definitely feel affection here. And you’ve set me off thinking properly about my Nana who died when I was 13. Thank you 🙏 😊
